Working Green by…recycling paper products and beverage containers
The Greening DGS Reuse & Recycling Team is currently exploring an enhanced recycling system with the goal of maximizing the amount of materials being recycled by employees and making it even easier to do so. Stayed tuned!
In the interim, recycling bins are available in break rooms on every floor of the Ziggurat and in other conveniently-located areas.
Paper Products
Recycle copy and printer paper (white and mixed/color) in the recycling bins labeled "office paper only." No sorting is needed and staples and paper clips are ok.
In addition, you may recycle the following paper products in those bins:
- Newspapers,
- Magazines,
- Junk Mail,
- Brochures,
- Telephone Books,
- Envelopes (with windows, too),
- File Folders,
- Cardboard (break it down and place outside cubicle or office for janitorial pick-up)
- Paper from paper shredders (keep shredded paper in bag, close bag with a knot, place bag by large recycing bin)
Important note: Please ensure that paper recycling bins are not contaminated with trash, beverage containers, or food waste. Contaminated content is considered waste and is taken to landfill.
Beverage Containers:
The Ziggurat's recycling vendor also collects:
- Aluminum Cans,
- Glass Bottles,
- Plastic Bottles,
- Glass Jars.
Recycle bins for these items are located in your break room, and elsewhere in the building, and are labeled "beverage containers only."
Important Note: Please ensure that beverage containers are empty before recycling.
Unacceptable Items:
Items that are not accepted for recycling are foam or wax cups, food wrappings, plastic wrappers, food coverings, vellum papers, blueprints, or hanging file folders. Recycling guidelines can also be found on the back of your desk side recycle box. |
